When You have a check engine light that turns on in Your Ford F-150 the first thing that You should do is try to stop driving as soon as possible. Driving with a check engine light on can cause extra damage to Your vehicle's mechanical components so it is a good idea to stop. When You are stopped You should use an OBD II scan tool on Your car to read the vehicle for any codes. If You have a code B1318 that means that there is a problem with the battery voltage. Usually this happens when there is a loose connection on the battery terminals or a bad cell in it. I recommend having a battery test done to determine if there are any problems.

Ford error code b1318 indicates that the battery voltage is low, and is typically caused by a dead or dying battery or a faulty battery connection.

This means that if you’re driving and the check engine light comes on or your car starts losing power or won’t stay running and the code B1318 comes up on your OBD2 scanner that means the battery is either no good or you could have a alternator failing or just bad connection to the battery. Try recharging the battery, clean the terminals and put the battery back in and see if that fixes your problem if not, while your car is running, remove the negative cable and see if your car continuesand see if your car continues to run if it does try turning on all accessories and see if it stays running if it does you need a new battery
