When receiving the ODB code p1e00 on Your Chevy Volt, You are likely experiencing an issue with the battery. Generally, that sequence indicates a generic electrical system problem. The message is almost always found concurrently with at least one other. Often, in this situation, Volt owners report that the car will not hold a charge at any voltage setting. The scenario appears to occur in earlier models of the vehicle, frequently in years coverinG2011 througH2013. Further exploration by a professional technician, preferably one that specializes in Hybrids, will usually be the most likely outcome. After all, these types of vehicles are quite complex. In fact, they use an entirely separate messaging element known as a Hybrid Powertrain Control Module 2 (HPCM2). A specific tool is needed to read this system and most consumers do not have this diagnostic component. Unfortunately, a visit to Your local hybrid car expert is to be expected when throwing the p1e00 code on a Volt.

If your chevy volt throws a p1e00 code it measn your echeck engine light is on and there may be a problem with the car's charging system.

I took the car to CRIECO in Delray Beach Florida They said they had a hybrid car technician I waited 4 days for that technician It cost me $200 for a diagnosis of $30,000 to repair which I did not do, and then $200 to get the car towed home, it was driving just fine when I brought it in. This was “my favorite day ever”Winnie the Pooh that's me being sarcastic!

That'snot true and should not be the 'Top Answer' P1E00 is a generic code that the OBD system requested a MIL activation and that more relevant codes are present. C'mon, Google

I got the P1E00 too. Today I just cleared with reader/scanner and it let me charge it again. There was no other code, the cooler level is ok, so maybe is just a glitch. If it happens again, I will take it to reprogram the hpcm and becm.

Had a refurbished lithium battery installed in my car, now won't charge (P1E00) but was previously fine. Had hpcm and becm reprogrammed... It charged once then started coding again

Got the same error, coolant for the battery itself was low. The 2 other compartments were good. Refilled it with proper fluid and cleared the CEL at AutoZone. I can charge now.
