The 2000 Chevy Malibu does not come equipped with a starter relay but has a starter solenoid. The solenoid will be located on the top of the starter and will look like a corkscrew or coil shape of wire wrapped around a round cylinder. The GM models use a bendix which has a solenoid that is used to mechanically force the starter gear out of the flywheel and close the upper currant electric contacts that turns the starter motor in one motion. There is a main fuse for the starter that You can check to see if its blown which will be located in the fuse panel under the hood. The starter solenoid replacement will range from $20 - $40 depending if its an aftermarket or OEM product.
