The blend door actuator in a 2001 Dodge Dakota is located next to the blend door under the dash on the passenger's side. If Your air is not coming out of the vents that You have selected it could be a problem with this actuator. The blend door in Your vehicle is used to control what vents the air comes out of from Your HVAC system. When there is a problem with it then You will have inaccurate or reduced air flow. The door is controlled by an actuator that is on the side of it and that is the most likely component to fail in the system. If it is not working I recommend replacing the actuator and that should solve the problem.
