The 2001 Ford F-350 7 3 diesel towing capacity is 12,500Lbs. This part will need to be changed some day. You don't want to get into any wrecks on the road. You should replace Your tires every 30,000 to 50,000 miles. Making sure Your tires are in the best condition is key to not crashing. You will come into problems with this part at some time or another. You could face cupping issues. You might run into feathering problems. Premature tire wear is something to lookout for. Make sure to inspect the tire pressure once a month. Check for holes, in case You run over something sharp. The part might become loose at some point.

Depending on cab box configuration the combined gross weight rating is 20,000 lbs. Take weight of your truck from 20,000 that will give you the trailer weight average is 13,000 lbs.

My truck has a new transmission, new turbo but having a hard time pulling up hills...what could be the problem? For example, it can barely tow trailer 3600 pounds plus small horse 1100 pounds. What could be wrong with it? I have to be able to tow at least 10,000 pounds. Has 251k miles. 2 wheel drive, 2001 Ford F350 7.3l diesel, 8 foot bed.

Fuel pressure. Basic test without engine running would be to take the cap off the fuel filter bowl. Key on the ignition without turning on the engine and observe the fuel flow into the bowl. If it’s barely trickling or flowing slowly you have a fuel flow restriction. If this is the case change the frame mounted fuel pump and/or drop the fuel tank and clean the screen filters in the sending unit. The fuel flow in the bowl should be such that you would be unable to stand near the bowl without fuel splashing at you. Hope this helps. Bosch makes a good frame Mounted fuel pump that is around 100 bucks. If your fuel pressure isn’t there all those expensive parts at the engine won’t do you any good

The truck only came with 250-275 HP and a 4 speed tranny, of course to doesn't pull up hills very well. You need to increase HP and torque.

Check your fuel pressure and make sure your injectors are clean. The injectors are runon oil pressure just to let you know. I had this same problemon a 1999 ford f250. I hope this helps
