The transmission fluid capacity for the 2003 Toyota Tundra iS5.5 pints for the R150 (RWD), 4.6 pints for the R150F (4WD) and 2.1 quarts for an initial fill or 13 quarts for a total fill for the 4-speed automatic. The type of fluid that should be used is dexron-viAutomatic transmission fluid. Transmission fluid is both an oil and a hydraulic fluid that helps with gear shifts, helps to cool the transmission and helps to lubricate moving parts. The fluid should be changed every 90,000 miles or so. The cost to change the fluid is anywhere from $100 to $120 in labor costs and extra for parts if taken to a mechanic. It takes about 10 to 20 minutes to change the fluid.

I just started the drain/fill/drive, drain/fill/drive, drain/fill/drive process with my '03 and got out a tick more than 4 quarts when draining.
