The 2004 Chevy Silverado's radiator is not equipped with a traditional radiator cap. The truck's coolant reservoir, located under hood is considered the only access to fluid and coolant levels. The system operates as an expansion tank that is pressurized. Signs the truck's coolant levels are low include overheating and an increase in the thermostat's readings. High engine operating temperatures can cause head gasket failure and costly repairs. In some cases lines flowing to and from the radiator, may crack or deteriorate or become disconnected with age. In other instances, broken thermostats or assemblies can trigger a loss of antifreeze as well as leaking reservoirs. The cost of replacing the reservoir in the Silverado averages $240-$300 in parts and labor.

That gen of truck uses a pressured over flow. The radiator cap is the one on the expansion tank. There is no cap on the radiator it self.

The radiator is on the front of the 2004 Chevy silverado, under the hood. The radiator cap is on the side of the radiator itself.
