The 2004Chrysler Sebring comes equipped with a voltage regulator. It is easy to find, inside the engine compartment. The first thing You will need to do is go to the front of Your vehicle, and use the prop arm to securely open the hood. Next, look to the left, or passenger side, of the engine block. The voltage regulator will either be mounted on its own outside the block, or it will be located inside the alternator. If it has gone bad, the regulator will need to be replaced. You can expect to pay between $30 and $58 for a new part. If You choose to have it serviced by an automotive technician, You can expect to pay an additional $87 to $239 for labor.

The location of the voltage regulator (VR) varies depending upon which model of Sebring you have. If you have the coupe or convertible the VR is located on the back of the alternator. If you have the sedan, the VR is built into the PCM. If you have determined that the VR is bad in a sedan the entire PCM must be replaced.
