If You've got the 2009 Ford Ranger with a 2.3 L engine then You will need 4 quarts of synthetic 5W-20 motor oil and if You have the 4.0 L V6 engine You will need 5 quarts of synthetic 5W-30 oil. If You do a lot of driving in extremely cold climates You can switch that 5W-30 to a 0W-30 but try to avoid ever usinG5W-20 as the oil pump in the 4.0 L engine doesn't keep the pressure up very well with that engine weight. You will want to be replacing Your oil every 5,000 to 7,500 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. -

The 2009 ford ranger can hold between 4.5, And 5 quarts of oil in the engine but it depends on the engine.
