The 2016 Honda HR-V key fob uses a CR2032 battery. These can be purchased for $3 to $5. To replace the battery You'll first want to remove the mechanical key. There is a small knob on the back of the fob to pull while simultaneously pulling the key out. Using it as a prying tool, insert it into the slot in the middle of the fob and twist. The two sides will come apart and You can swap out the batteries. Simply press the two sides to snap them back together and reinsert the mechanical key into its designated spot.

The key fob does not use a CR2032… that is too big. It takes ONE CR 1620
