An oil change is one of the most prime and vital services for Your car. Synthetic oil commonly should be changed every 7,500 - 10,000 miles. Ford recommends getting Your 2017 Ford Escape oil & filter changed every 3,000-5,000 miles for conventional oil. I have a 2017 Ford Escape 1.5L EcoSport 4 cylinder with approx. 82,000 kms (51,000 miles). After researching it extensively, it requires 4.1 litres of oil (4.3 quarts), oil type 5w-20. Conventional oil changes are recommended at 4800 to 8000 kms (3000 to 5000 miles) and synthetic at 12,000 to 16,000 kms (7500 to 10,000 miles). I just changed the oil today and it took exactly 4.1 litres, so a 5 litre jug will give you some extra to top up during regular driving if required. I also switched out the oil filter for under $10, however it was a little tough to get to. I read several forums that mention you can switch out the oil filter every second oil change, however for the minimal cost and time involved, I'll do it every time. Hopefully this is helpful.
