Most often, maintenance entails changing oils, the cabin air filters, the transmission fluids and the spark plugs. In a 2018 Colorado, which uses a full synthetic motor oil, the oil should be changed once ever 7,500 to 10,000 miles. The cabin air filter, which is responsible for filtering the air in the car, should be swapped out once every 20,000 miles on average. The transmission fluid, which is responsible for allowing the transmission systems tow work smooth and prevent things like gear slipping, should be changed every 50,000 miles. Finally, the spark plugs of the car should be replaced every 85,000 miles or so. All of these procedures are fairly routine and can be done at home, or at an auto shop or dealership.
