Chevrolet issued a recall on some 2013 and 2014Cruze models for head gasket problems. The gasket in these models is known to fail and that can completely destroy the motor. When a head gasket fails that allows the oil and the coolant to mixAnd that will destroy the lubrication in Your engine and cause it to fail. Chevy has found that there is a certain number of these gaskets that will just fail as they age so they have decided to issue a recall. When Your vehicle is under recall You should get it to a dealership as soon as possible to get it changed. Chevrolet will replace anything under recall for free.

I have a 2015 Chevy Cruze with blown head gasket.... I took to dealership and they said the thermostat was bad so they replaced it. A couple of weeks later, car was overheating so I had it towed back to the same dealership and this time it was a blown head gasket. Looks like Chevrolet needs to recall more than just the 2013 & 2014. Stand behind their cars they build... I can't afford to keep putting money into this car.
I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze LTZ with a blown head gasket. Coolant in the oil. Hasn't run for a year now and Istill owe on it and have to have insurance. The dealership where I bought it will not co-operate or help resolve this issue. They also ha a water pump recall which will affect several other issues. How can I find out if my vehicle has a recall on it.

My 2016 is having the same head gasket problems...I would like to know what can be done to remedy this situation...
2015 chevy cruz with 104,000 miles. Took to dealership and head gasket blown. Put a new thermostat in 2 weeks ago. Drove not even 10 miles from mechanic and over heated. Told me to just keep putting coolant in. Well that only lasts so long. Had to trade it on.....I believe 2015 should have the recall as well.
The cruze (especially Eco models) of 2012 to 2016 (with the older design, some 2017 models as well), suffer from head gasket failure, due to the high compression ratio. If you fuel up with regular during summer months (when gas is most expensive), the engine will lose power and start pinging/knocking on the highway. This is also onnected to a sweet coolant smell in the cabin with cabin heater on. The older Cruze suffers most in high temperature environments. Any Pre-2016 model should suffer from it. The replacement of a headgasket is in the vincinity of $1200-$3000.
My 2014 Lt Turbo has a blown head gasket also. Not covered under special warranty..
