The Chevy Cruze did have some major problems reported with the intake manifold but the car was never recalled because of this issue. This happened in the first generation Cruze models froM2011 to 2015 which consumers gave a bad reliability ranking. The reports givens were that the intake manifold had a missing air check valve and it would cause numerous problems with the 1.4-liter turbo engine. Some of the symptoms were blue smoke from the exhaust, excessive oil use, and a rough idle all caused the check engine light to illuminate. The repairs for these problems would involve installing a new intake manifold or replacing the valve cover and costs would range from $500 - $800.

Some chevy cruze models were recalled because the front half shaft on the right side could fracture and separate.
