The recall issued for the Chevy Cruze negative battery cable applies to years 2011 througH2015. The recall was issued because the negative terminal on the battery cable was not crimped down tight enough at the factory and can come loose over time. Not all vehicles will have the problem but just in case Chevy has extended the warranty coverage for this part for 10 years or 120,000 miles. If Your vehicle is affected by the recall, You may experience any number of electrical problems. Two of the most common ones are going to be the radio display turning on and off and the ABS or STS warning light coming on and off. You may also experience charging issues as well as losing power steering. You will need to have Your local Chevy dealer inspect Your Cruze and perform the work, which will be done at no cost to You.

The negative battery cable terminal clamp may have an inadequate crimp at the battery negative terminal on certain 2011-2015 model year chevrolet cruze vehicles. The internal resistance increases over time, and the electrical systems of the vehicles do not receive adequate fuel. With this state, the following effects are possible: the radio / hvac monitor can be turned on and off; the antilock brake system, service traction system, stabiliitrac service and vehicle steering messages can be on and off

Would this be the same in Holden Cruze. I’m in Australia and having the exact same issues.

Maybe someone can answer this for me. I have taken my cruze into the dealer shortly after I bought it. (Got it used but in 2016) it would have been covered under warranty for it at that time but they said nothing was wrong. I'm now at 125k miles on it and just finding this out now. Can I still have them fix this for free since they neglected to finding and fix it back in 2016/17 when it was taken in? I found the post for the replacement and that was from 2015 so I know it was available at the time and not something new that has come out after I got it. My car is a 2014 so even doing it by year instead of miles it would be covered still..
