The 2005 Toyota Highlander has a coolant capacity of 12.6 quarts of prediluted 50/50 coolant. If You need to do a coolant change on the vehicle then You will first need to open the hood and find the radiator. It will be in front of the engine compartment and will have a clear or black plastic container attached to it. This is the coolant reservoir. It will have a drain plug and a fill plug, as well as a dipstick. You can measure the amount of coolant in there and then simply add more if You are only filling. If You are going to flush it however then You will want to open the drain plug and let flow out into a bucket. You may pour water into the container to help with this process. When the water comes out mostly clean You know that it is done. Close up the drain plug at this point and fill the container to the cool or cold line marked by the dipstick, then put the upper cap back on.
