The cost to replace the 2012 Honda CR-V torque converter is around $500. Your vehicle's torque converter is the same as the clutch of a vehicle with a manual transmission. However, unlike a manual transmission vehicle, it uses fluid to transmit power to the transmission preventing Your engine from stalling and allowing the transmission to change.A faulty seal can allow fluid to leak and become contaminated. A bad torque converter can damage a transmission. Bad torque convertors can lead to damage, overheating, friction, and transmission fluid degradation. If these problems continue, it can cause even more damage to transmission. An automatic transmission in general has a way of soaking up horsepower, but the torque converter can take a potent combination and turn it into a pig when the rubber meets the road.

My car was shuddering when driving through the lower gears and up to 45mph and I took it to the dealership and they told me the torque converter needed to be replaced. The estimate to do that was 3,895. 895 for parts and the remainder for the labor. Didn’t pay that.Bought my own parts took it to a trusted mechanic and in total paid about 1200. Hope that helps.
