I'm not going to ask what the console did to You, but I'll help You get that center console on Your Ford Explorer removed. We're going to need a magnet, an 8 millimetre socket, a ratchet, a few adult beverages, and some ratchet extensions. First, You'll see 8mm bolts on each side of the console that need to be removed, so do so. Then, release the plastic fasteners from either side and pry towards You. Next, You'll want to get the 7 mm bolt under the rubber insert in the console released. Use a small trim stick if You have one to pry away the cup holder assembly. Quaff adult beverage as necessary at this point. Disconnect the electrical connection from the cigarette light and then remove the remaining two 8mm on top of the console. Disconnect the remaining electrical connector. Using the ratchet extension, You can remove the additional fasteners, and pick them up with Your magnet. At this point, You can yank the console and replace or destroy -- it's Your call!
