The trailer hitch for a Ford Explorer is going to be A-Class three hitch and it will have a 2 X2 inch opening. This is the most common type of hitch used on consumer vehicles. The towing capacity for newer models of this vehicle will be over 5,000 pounds if You have the towing package installed and 3500 or less if You do not have it equipped. The torque output will be 310 lb-ft for the base model engine but if You have the upgraded 3.3L V6 engine You'll be able to pump out an impressive 415 lb-ft of torque.
