The Ford F-150's vacuum hose was the subject of a recall, NHTSA ID number #08V208000 and NHTSA action number #PE08001. The recall affects 2005-2006 Ford F-150 and Lincoln LT models equipped with a 3.5 liter V8 engine. The brake booster vacuum hose attached to the intake manifold assembly, may swell over time and become disconnected. The repair involves replacing the hose with a new clamp fitting that prevents it from becoming detached. Existing hoses are connected through a plug-in method that may malfunction. If the booster cannot supply the brakes with vacuum, brake assist will be disabled and drivers will need to apply tremendous manual effort to use the brake pedal and bring the vehicle to a stop. The resulting loss of braking power could cause an accident or increase the risk for collision.

Ford recalled certain 2005 to 2006 f150 trucks because of their brake booster vacuum supply hoses that might become detached from the fitting. They can reduce power from the brakes.
