The Ford Focus transmission malfunction reset procedure can be followed by watching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCVWYIPIPK4 The transmission is one of the most crucial parts of the vehicle. You will come into issues at some point. The gears may become stuck. There could be jerking. Hard shifts could arise and that is not good. You may experience shudders. The transmission may slip. Delayed shifts will cause acceleration issues. If the transmission fluid leaks, that needs to be solved quickly. The transmission fluid needs to be replaced every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Along with fluid changes, terrible sounds will come from the transmission. Old transmission fluid will be awful to the ear. A worn out torque converter will cause a headache.

You can reset the transmission by turning the ignition key to the "2" position or "run" position. Press the gas pedal to the floor. Wait. Turn the key to the "off" position. Release the gas. Wait two minutes and start the car.
Is it me or does this do nothing in Australian cars? The supposed fixes for this are bogus. I paid $44 to mechanic to relearn it and it lasted 2 days before flipping back.

I found the fix! I drive a2012 Ford Focus sel model. If you turn the car off the car open the door to make it get out of acc mode. Close the door. Switch the car to run mode (don’t start the car)put your foot on the brake and shift into neutral let the “transmission ready” screen run its course turn off the car and turn it back on as if you were starting. Boom the tcm has been reset and you don’t have that annoying 2 second delay! Hope this helps 😃 (also side note) keep your cars e-brake on don’t roll down a hill because you don’t think
