The brake hold button in the 2019 Toyota RAV4 allows the car to remain stopped even after the brake pedal is released. It can be turned by pressing the button located just above the electric parking break button. You can press the button when You've come to a full stop and have the brake pedal depressed. The indicator light on the button will turn green to show it is active. When the brakes are held the light will turn yellow. If the car is either park or reverse the system cannot be used. The same is true if the driver door is open or if the seat belt is unbuckled (as it is assumed You are not driving in this case). When You no longer wish to use the system it has to manually turned off.

The purpose of the hold button in a 2019 toyota rav4 is known as an automatic stop or hold. When the hold is enabled and you've come to a complete stop, the car will remain in the stopped position even if you let go of the brake pedal.

You use the hold bottom if you don't want to hold the brake pedal. 0nce you turn it on everytime you come to a stop it will engage. If for some reason you unbundled your seat belt will disengage and automatically engage the parking brake.
