That's a pretty vague question: Do You mean during normal operation, making an Audible and visual alarm, or are You encountering a failure condition Let's go over what the collision mitigation brake system (CMBS) does, real quick. When it detected that You might hit a vehicle ahead of You in traffic, it automatically applies an appropriate amount of braking force to help You avoid or MINImize the chances of that happening. If You get too close to a vehicle ahead of You when You're going over 10mph, the system can activate a warning beep, apply the brakes, and tighten the seat belt around You. This only happens if there's is a greater than 10mph difference between You and the vehicle ahead of You. The system works by using radar located in the front of Your vehicle's grille, and coordinating with the brake actuator in the engine compartment and the seat belt e-pretensioners on the front seats. Any of these parts can fail. Heck, if You drive on a road with only a few vehicles, You might see a CHECK CMBS RADAR SENSOR message --- this is completely normal, though, so You shouldn't unduly worry the system is failing. The firSTStep in trouble-shooting issues here is to turn off the system by flicking the CMBS OFF switch on Your dash, and toggling it back on.
