Honda recommends that You torque the lug nuts on Your Element to 80 foot pounds each. This is a good torque to make sure that the lugs are properly seated and will not come off the vehicle while driving. When You are removing wheels from Your car it is a good idea to use an impact driver. These can break the torque very easily and will help You change the wheel faster. When You are reinstalling the lug nuts You should never use an impact driver though because they can exert too much torque and strip out the lugs or studs. You should always use a calibrated torque wrench to make sure that they are torqued down properly.
