Toyota recommends that You bring Your 2014 Highlander in for maintenance every 5,000 miles. During those 5,000 mile services Toyota will change the oil and filter each time as well as inspect the vehicle and all of the other fluids in the SUV. At greater intervals there will be larger services that are done. For example at 30,000 mile intervals they recommend replacing the transmission and transfer case fluid if You have four wheel drive. At 120,000 miles they recommend replacing the spark plugs. Each of these services will cost more than a standard service, but it is good to make sure to get them done. Doing the scheduled maintenance on Your car is the best way to keep it running for a long time.

The schedule can be found in the manual and it should be followed. The schedule is set out by mileage and when it should be done.
