The Chevrolet Cruze has a myriad of lights and codes that appear on the dashboard over the years of ownership. Usually, they simply indicate it is time for a routine maintenance, such as oil and fluid, filter, or basic component changes. Sometimes, however, they indicate that something is wrong in the system. One of these is trouble code p0171. This code indicates that the fuel system is weakening, and running sluggishly. It could also mean that a vacuum leak has been created, usually due to a cracked hose. Alternatively, it may mean that the mass airflow sensor is no longer communicating with the vehicle's computer, or ECM. If the MAF is faulty, it will need to be replaced.

This code indicates that the fuel system is running weakly or a vacuum leak is occurring near this side of the engine.

A mass air flow sensor' under reporting' may be a common cause of code p0171. Essentially, this means that the air flow sensor tells the computer that the engine enters much less air than it actually is. It's important to reaffirm that the oxygen sensors are accurate

A mass air flow sensor' under reporting' may be a common cause of code p0171. Essentially, this means that the air flow sensor tells the computer that the engine enters much less air than it actually is. It's important to reaffirm that the oxygen sensors are accurate " the fuel mixture is too lean.
