The Chevy Silverado's P0741 error code points to a problem with the powertrain control module. Specifically, the timing of the torque converter in relation to the transmission's input shaft. The speed of both rotations should be equal to engage the engine properly. If there is a difference between the two RPM's, the P0741 code will be thrown. To the mechanic this means the TCC or torque converter clutch needs replaced or the solenoid is bad. The error could also be caused by a faulty transmission control module, engine coolant temperature sensor, d***y tranny fluid or broken wiring harnesses in and around the transmission. As an owner, You'll notice the "check engine" light illuminated, increased fuel consumption, mIS Firing, stalling and an inability to shift into high gear while driving at high speeds.
