When You get a check engine light on at the dash in Your 2016 Chevy Malibu the first thing that You should do is try to stop driving as soon as possible. Driving with a check engine light can damage components in Your vehicle. When You are stopped You can use an OBD II scan tool to read the code that is stored in Your ECU. If You have a code P2097 that means that the ECU has determined that there is a problem with the fuel being too rich on bank 1.
