The 2007 Toyota Sequoia uses SAE 75W90 gear oil in the rear differential. Toyota recommends that You use synthetic oil whenever You need to change it. The oil in Your differential is much thicker than the oil that is found in Your engine. This is because it is a more compact area and that can lead to more heat being generated. The excessive heat will usually cause the oil to break down faster, a thinner oil would offer much less protection than the thicker oil. The differential is the laSTSet of gears that the power has to go through before it reaches the wheels at the back of the vehicle.
