The maximum weight that You can put on the roof rack of Your Toyota Sienna (and this should apply to all model years) is going to be 165 pounds. And no, that's not a whole lot; most vehicles aren't engineered to store a lot on the roofs: Skis and some light cargo (or, I suppose, the family pets, if You're some politicians) are best here. But, Your Sienna can actually haul something like the Northern Tool's Ultra-Tow Tag-Along cargo trailer, which has 16.6 cubic feet of storage and A600 pound load capacity. Since You can tow up to 3,500 pounds, grabbing a cargo trailer is a good workaround for the low limit on what You can put over Your head.
