Depending on the model year of Your Toyota Tacoma, the fuel tank size can vary, sometimes greatly. In model year 2000, the size ranged from 15.1 gallons to 18 gallons. FroM2001 until 2004, the fuel tank was between 15.8 and 18.5 gallons. In 2005, Toyota moved to a universal 21.0 gallon fuel tank, which persisted through model year 2010. Beginning in 2011 and continuing through the present, the Tacoma uses a 21.1 gallon fuel tank. While You think that 0.1 gallons might not be that big of a difference when it comes to fuel economy (it's not), it's a big difference when it comes to fitment; an older model fuel tank will not fit on a newer model Tacoma, so please plan accordingly if You're making repairs or replacements.
