The wheel lug nut torque defined by the manufacturer for the Toyota Tundra is 154 ft-lbs of torque for the trucks equipped with steel wheels and 100 ft. -lbs. For the other trim levels witH275/65R18 tire sizes and aluminum wheels. This is recommended if a torque wrench is used which allows the bolts to be tightened without stripping or damaging the lug stud. It also lets You know that the wheel assembly is sealed and assembled so that the parts attached to the wheel do not create any strain variations. If You manage to hurt the lug nuts or studs, $10 - $20 per package can be substituted for apprxoimate. From the owners' manual, You would have to find the right lug size and placement.

Yes a impact will ruin them if you don't know how to use it properly.
I use milwaukee 18 volt torq on setting2. Puts the lugs on right at 110ftlbs. For alloy wheels. Nice and easy start light with hand ratchet then impact. Star pattern. Then I check with torq wrench.

I haven’t found a dealer yet that has techs that use torque wrenches to check lug nuts correctly. All they do is check the click on the torque wrench.

I had to use a 4 Way to loosen my Aluminum Wheels after putting on a Set of Tires. My GOD I Probably have Warped Rotors.
