This 2017 Chevy Tahoe makes use of regular unleaded gasoline, which iS87 octanes and has a gas tank size of 26 gal. You can use premium gas in this car, which is 91 octanes, but seeing as this will cost You more and not give any benefit there is no real reason to. You can not under any circumstance use diesel, however. If You make the mistake of putting it in the tank do not start the car, have it towed to a mechanic right away. If You start the engine it will foul it, which can cause You thousands of dollars in repairs. If You leave the fuel sit, even a few hours, it can cause damage to the tank and gas line. To open the gas tank You have a few options. You can use the button in the car, You can use the key fob, or You can pull it open with Your hand.

The Tahoe has two options for fuel. It can run on regular gasoline or it can use E85. The E85 will cause the miles per gallon to drop. On the 4WD it will go from an average of 18 to an average of 13, the 2WD is not any better with a drop from 19 mpg to 14 mpg. The performance, other than miles per gallon, appears to be the same, so it is up to the consumer whether to use regular or E85.
