The 2015 Jeep Cherokee uses regular unleaded fuel. It should have an octane rating of 87 or higher. While using the higher rating won't cause damage to Your engine, however, it isn't recommended, due to the fact that the more expensive option is unnecessary. It will also burn much more quickly, making it pointless. 87 octane fuel is cheap and easy to find on long road trips. Starting with the 2019 3.2 liter, v6 engine, the requirements for gasoline will move up to an octane rating of 89 or higher.
