The kind of gas for the Hyundai Tucson is unleaded 87 octane or higher. Car parts will eventually become ineffective. The fuel filter needs to be replaced every 30,000 miles. If it doesn't, You will come across issues with the performance. Having the fuel burn greatly is the key to maximizing Your miles per gallon. Your gas tank needs to be in top shape. You will come into issues at some point. A bad control valve might arise. The gas tank could become loose. There could be gas leaks, which need to be looked into pronto. The gas cap can become stuck and will be quite a hassle to deal with.

22 Tucson requires 87 min octane. This is based on calling Hyundai corporate in Ca. It does require “Top Tier”gas. Pretty much all the name brands are graded that category

I‘ve been getting very low mileage in my 22 Tucson hybrid. The Hyundai service manager in Colorado Springs informed me that during break-in period ( defined less than 4000miles) this is expected. He also advised that using 91 octane gas is NOT recommended. Better to use 87 or even 85 octane regular gas.
