The 2017 Dodge Journey came standard with a 2.4L 4Cylinder engine but You could also upgrade to a larger 3.5L V6 engine. Both models will need to synthetic 5W-20 oil. The standard motor will have a capacity of 4.5 US quarts while the larger V6 will have a capacity of 5.9 US quarts. This vehicle will need to have it's oil changed out every 7,500 miles to avoid causing long term damage to the engine. The oil drain plug will have a head size of 16mm and will need a torque of 22 lbs-ft in order to remove it.

The Journey comes with two types of engine, the 4 cylinder or the 6 cylinder. To change the oil in your vehicle, you need to know which engine you have. This will determine whether you need 10W-30 for the 6 cylinder or, 5W-20 for the 4 cylinder. They each require different amounts of oil as well. The 6 cylinder needs 5.5 quarts and the 4 cylinder only needs 4.5 quarts.
