The 2004Chrysler Sebring uses SAE 5W-30 oil in the engine. Chrysler recommends that You use synthetic oil whenever You need to change it to get better wear protection. There are two types of oil that are on the market these days, synthetic and conventional. Synthetic is engineered in a lab to give You greater wear protection and longer life than the standard petroleum-based conventional option. You will also need to change synthetic less frequently. Usually You can go 7,500 miles between changes with synthetic compared to the 3,500 to 5,000 miles with conventional. I recommend checking on Your oil at least once a month. You will want to make sure that it is full and free from signs of damage or debris.
