The 2017 GMC Acadia uses SAE 5W-20 oil for the four cylinder version and SAE 5W-30 for the V6 engine. GMC recommends that You use synthetic oil when You need to change it. Oil comes in two major varieties, conventional and synthetic. Conventional is an older style of oil that is made with petroleum, and synthetic is newer and made in a lab to provide You with greater wear protection and longer life. Synthetic oil only needs to be changed every 7,500 miles compared to the 3,500 to 5,000 with conventional. I recommend checking Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is free from debris or signs of burning.

The 2017 GMC Acadia will use a full synthetic motor oil, either sae 5w-20 or 0w-20.

Types of oil can be regular, synthetic blend, or full synthetic. This matters when selecting oil for your vehicle. The viscosity of the fluid is also very important. The Acadia requires full synthetic 5W-30 oil to run properly.
