For best results, Chevy recommends using either a sae 5w-30 genuine motor oil, or an equivalent oil from an api certified provider. The 2005 Colorado works best with fully synthetic motor oils. While semi-synthetic or engine oils can be used, Nissan recommends the use of 100% synthetic oils to boost efficiency, safety and longevity. The 2005 Colorado takes up to 6 quarts of motor oil. This greatly increases the longevity, efficiency and performance of the car with 7,000 to 10,000 miles being the recommended period between oil changes. An oil change typically costs between $100 and $150, depending on where You get it done. You can buy Your own oil and do it Yourself too.
