Nissan recommends usinG5w-30 full synthetic oil in Your 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. It is recommended to change Your oil every 7,500 miles or 1 year, whichever comes first. You can extend Your engine life, get better gas mileage, and have better performance if You change Your oil regularly. Routine oil and filter changes help remove particles and sludge from the engine. You can change the oil Yourself, just remember when You change the oil to also change out the oil filter with a new one. There are also several places like the Nissan dealership as well as Jiffy Lube and Firestone Auto Care that do oil changes as well.
