The 2006 Volvo XC90 came standard with a 2.5L 5-cylinder engine and there was also an option to upgrade to a much more powerful 4.4L V8 engine. No matter which engine You have equipped in this vehicle they will both require the usage of fully synthetic 5W-30 motor oil. The 2.5L model will have a capacity of 5.8 US quarts while the V8 model will top out at 7.1 US quarts. Both of these capacities are when the filter is included. You should be changing out the oil in this vehicle every 10,000 miles to avoid causing damage to Your motor. It will cost between $120 and $150 to have it changed out at Your local shop.
