If You have a BMW X5 from model year 2009, You'll have one of three different engines. Offered in 2009 were the 3.0L 6 cylinder, the 3.0L 6 cylinder diesel, or the 4.8L 8 cylinder. The regular 6 cylinder takeS6.9 quarts of SAE 0W-30 or SAE 5W-30 motor oil. The diesel variant of the same requireS7.7 quarts of SAE 5W-30. Finally, the 4.8L 8 cylinder useS8.5 quarts of SAE 0W-30, or SAE 5W-30. All oil types mentioned above are full synthetic. When given the option, it's best to use the oil with the lowest numbers -- as this represents the thinnest oil. Using thinner oil will keep Your engine running efficiently, which can make it last an overall longer time.
