The 2010 Nissan Frontier uses SAE 5W-30 engine oil. Nissan recommend that You use a full synthetic oil every time that You change it. Oil comes in two major varieties, synthetic and conventional. Synthetic oil is engineered in a lab to give You greater wear protection and longer life than the standard petroleum based conventional option. This means that You will need less frequent oil changes. On average You can go 7,500 miles between changes with synthetic compared to the 3,500 to 5,000 miles with conventional. Make an effort to check Your oil at least once a month. You will want to make sure that it is full and free from signs of debris and damage.
