The 2015 Hyundai Sonata useS5.1 quarts of SAE 5W-20 oil. Hyundai recommends using synthetic oil every time that You need to change it. Oil comes in two major varieties, conventional and synthetic. Conventional oil is an older style that is based in petroleum compared to synthetic which is newer and engineered to give You better protection and longer oil life. This means that You will need to change it less often. On average You can usually change synthetic every 7,500 miles compared to conventional every 3,500 to 5,000 miles. I recommend You check Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is free from debris.
