The 2015 Nissan Pathfinder has a 3.5 L V6 engine that needs 0W-20 Synthetic Motor Oil. The capacity for the vehicle iS5.1 quarts with a filter and the torque for the drain plug is 25 ft/lbs. Oil is used to help keep the engine clean and running smoothly and parts of the engine lubricated to help with friction when they rub together. Oil is not meant to last forever so it will need to be changed every so often. For the Pathfinder the oil and the filter should be changed every 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. Other maintenance that should be done at the same time is rotating the tires and inspecting things such as the exhauSTSystem, drive shaft boots, axle and suspension, etc.

The type of engine oil recommended for the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder varies by trim levels due to the different engines. The Platinum, S, SL and SV models take a 0W-20 or 5W-30 viscosity. The Platinum Hybrid, SL Hybrid and SV Hybrid models take a 0W-20 viscosity engine oil.
