The 2016 AudiQ5 uses SAE 5W-40 oil when You need to change it. AudiAlso recommends that You use synthetic oil every time that You change it. Oil comes in two major varieties, synthetic and conventional. Synthetic is more modern and engineered in a lab to give You better wear protection and longer life than the petroleum based conventional option. This means that synthetic will only need to be changed every 7,500 miles compared to conventional which needs a change every 3,500 to 5,000 miles. I recommend that You check Your oil at least once a month. Doing this can help You make sure that there is not any debris or signs of burning in it.

The oil in the 2016 Audi Q5 varies by fuel type. For the gasoline engine on the 2.0T Premium and 3.0T Premium, a synthetic oil with SAE 5W-40 is suggested. For the 3.0 TDI Premium Plus diesel engine, you're still using synthetic but the spec is 507, VMP 5W-30.
