As the owner of a 2012 GMC Terrain, You may someday find that Your vehicle has developed a leak from the undercarriage. This could be due to oil. First, You will need to check Your oil filter for clogging or excessive dirtiness. If either exist, You will need to replace the filter. This will cost You between $28 and $49 for parts alone. If the filter is good, You will need to check the oil drain plug, found on the pan underneath the reservoir. Ensure the plug hasn't become stripped, or loosened since the last fluids change. If so, it will need to be tightened or replaced. This can cost between $5 and $24 for a new plug.

Oil leakage in the 2012 gmc terrain is usually caused by one of the valves or seals being worn out; however, leakage can also occur due to basic errors such as not tightening the oil cap enough or tightening the oil pan gasket tightly after an oil shift. The above is a typical cause of oil leakage in the lower engine field. Damaged drain plug for oil leakage
