There are a number of reasons why a check engine light comes on in a 2015 Chevy Spark. The most common one is a loose gas cap. When fumes escape the tank, it disrupts the pressure reading and triggers the light. The same thing applies to a cracked fuel cap. A bad mass airflow sensor can trigger the light, as well, since it's part of the vehicle's engine-management system. The light will usually be accompanied by trouble starting, throttle pedal change, rough idle, and reduced gas mileage. A bad O2 sensor is another common cause. Not only does a failed sensor burn more fuel, it can result in damage to the spark plugs, and catalytic converter. The check engine light may also come in the 2015 Spark to signify a problem with the spark plugs, catalytic converter, ignition coil, vacuum system, and exhaust gas recirculation system.
