When the check engine light comes on in the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 it means that a problem was detected and it can mean something simple to something complicated. It can mean things like that there is a loose gas cap, a malfunction with the fuel injection system, a damaged oxygen sensor, faulty head gasket defective spark plugs, etc. You can drive the truck for a while to see if it goes away by itself. If that didn't work You will need to fix the problem for the light to go away. You can try some simple fixes to see if that is the problem before plugging in a scanner and finding out that way. The simple things to fix would be to see if the gas capo needs to be tightened or if the spark plugs need to be replaced.

If your "check engine light" makes an appearance in your 2017 Chevy silverado it may indicate a loos gas cap or a more serious issue like a failed o2 sensor, a larger emissions leak or problems with your vehicle's catalytic converter.
