The type of oil that the 2018 Hyundai Elantra takes is SAE 5W-30 Synthetic for both the 1.4 L 4Cylinder and the 1.6 L 4Cylinder and SAE 5W-20 Synthetic for the 2.0 L 4Cylinder engine. The capacity for the Elantra iS4.4 quarts with a filter for the 1.4 L 4Cylinder, 4.8 quarts with a filter for the 1.6 L 4Cylinder and 4.2 quarts with a filter for the 2.0 L 4Cylinder engine. Oil is essential to help keep the car running because it is used to keep the engine clean. The oil will go bad after a while so in the car it should be changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. You can change the filter at the same time so You don't have to do it later on.

Most of the 2018 Hyundai Elantra's have the same amount and type of oil required. The 2.0 liter engine Limited, the SE, the SEL and the Value Edition all use 4.2 quarts of 5W-20 or 5W-30 oil. The 1.4 liter Eco uses 4.4 quarts. 4.8 quarts is how much the Elantra Sport weighs. Both of these 1.4 liter Elantra's use 5W-30 or 5W-40 viscosity oil that meets ACEA A5/B5.
